I am Smita and I am passionate about art. It gives me great joy and satisfaction to be able to transfer beautiful landscapes and pictures onto canvas. Someone once said an artist never completes their art, they simply abandon it. I believe in this as each piece teaches me something before I move on to the next. I am happy to be working with by Woman. This is an empowering platform to showcase artworks to worldwide customers. I sincerely hope to grow together.
I am Priya, a self-taught artist, a graduate in Chemistry and a passionate Bharatanatyam dancer. The alchemy of art has allured me for the past 21 years. The blending of colours has always fascinated me leading to my learning painting. Dance and painting have instilled confidence in me to try out many things in life. I believe in these two famous quotes: Mary Lou Cook said “Creativity is about inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun”. And G.B. Shaw said “I believe life isn't about finding yourself; life is about creating yourself”. I try to imbibe these ideas in my work.
I like all traditional Indian art forms, Tanjore Painting and Kerala Murals being my all-time favourite because I enjoy detailing a lot. Gradually, I realised my love for and inclination towards vintage, rustic, wooden, masculine, distressed, shabby chic and ethnic art. I'm also a Fevicryl specialist from India and an internationally certified watercolour and one-stroke painting artist.
I love the ideology of the by Woman initiative. I believe in a world where innovation and creativity coexist peacefully and foster a sense of community among artists and art enthusiasts. I'm here to contribute in some little way to its objective of preserving all kinds of handmade work.
